Charlie grew up in Louisville, Kentucky before moving to Lexington to attend Transylvania University. He studied exercise science and played college soccer. After graduating, Charlie spent two years working as a medical scribe before attending the University of Kentucky College of Medicine. During medical school, Charlie’s passion for pediatrics grew as he became involved in several local sports leagues for children with disabilities.

In his free time, Charlie enjoys spending time with his wife, Katherine, and their two cats. He also enjoys being active, playing and watching sports (especially English Premier League soccer and Chicago Bears football), exploring new restaurants, and traveling.

Zahraa was born in Houston, Texas and raised in Dhahran, Saudi Arabia. After high school, she attended the Aga Khan University in Karachi, Pakistan. Throughout medical school, Zahraa volunteered at various orphanages in Karachi to teach children about nutrition, healthy coping mechanisms, and first aid skills. Zahraa is passionate about providing holistic care to her patients and hopes to educate and empower children to make healthy decisions that can set them up for a happy and healthy future.

Outside of medicine, Zahraa loves spending time with her family and friends and enjoys calligraphy, watercolor painting, and being outdoors.

Cassidy was born and raised in Grant County, Kentucky. Growing up with three sisters, including a younger sister with type 1 diabetes, she became passionate about pediatrics at a young age. She studied biology at Morehead State University and got her medical degree at the University of Louisville School of Medicine. During her training, she developed a strong interest in medical education as well as tackling health inequities to improve care for all pediatric patients.

In her free time, she loves to cook plant-based recipes, spend time with her husband and two kitties, and play the piano. Outside of her home, you can catch her watching theatre and hiking.

She then moved to North Carolina to earn her medical degree at Wake Forest, where she found a passion for pediatrics.

In her free time, Virginia loves reading and spending time outside. She also loves spending time with friends and family, and trying local coffee shops and restaurants.

Kelsey grew up in Union City, a small town in west Tennessee. She went to college at the University of Mississippi (Hotty Toddy!) where she earned a bachelor’s degree in psychology. During college, many of her extracurriculars revolved around working with children such as volunteering with Ronald McDonald House Charities and tutoring school aged children. Following college, she attended medical school in east Kentucky, where her passion for pediatrics was solidified. Kelsey is excited to be back in Tennessee and join the Vanderbilt community!

Outside of medicine, Kelsey enjoys reading a good book, watching Ole Miss football and baseball, cooking, and hosting game nights with friends.

She received her undergraduate degree in Environmental Public Health at The Ohio State University (GO BUCKS!!) and subsequently moved to NYC to attend medical school at Albert Einstein in the Bronx. During her time in medical school, she became involved with medical education, global health initiatives, and women’s health advocacy while solidifying her lifelong interest in pediatrics.

Outside of medicine, Grace enjoys traveling with friends and family. She is a big foodie and is looking forward to trying all the new restaurants in the area. She also enjoys cheering on any Ohio sports team.

In her spare time, Katie loves hiking and exploring the outdoors with her Australian Shepherd, Scout. She also enjoys baking treats for her friends and family.

Following a gap year working in breast cancer research he attended Mayo Clinic for medical school, and he remains passionate about oncology and clinical research. His hobbies include running, snowboarding, and rock climbing. He loves spending time with his family and his parents’ Goldendoodle and hiking and camping in northern Arizona. He is a fan of tennis, football, basketball, board games, and anything science fiction.

Eva Kurtts was born and raised in Elberta, Alabama - a small, farming community on the Alabama gulf coast. She majored in Biology at Mississippi State University. She attended medical school at the University of Alabama at Birmingham (UAB). Growing up along the Gulf Coast, the beach and coastal waterways were her backyard. Since an early age, she has enjoyed watersports including paddle boarding, surfing, and swimming. Additionally, she is a person of many hobbies: baking, crafting, sewing, reading. In medical school, she found a newfound love in group sports - especially tennis, pickleball, and volleyball. You will find her seeking out the best breakfast pastry for a weekend treat in Nashville.

Jordan grew up most of his life in the suburbs of Pennsylvania. He then went to study biology at Penn State. During this time, Jordan developed an interest in teaching, laboratory research, and pediatrics. Directly after college, he went to Chicago for medical school at Northwestern. At Northwestern, he further developed his love for pediatrics, and he took a research year to do projects in oncology and genetics. Jordan plans to practice as a pediatric subspecialist and continue to do work in translational research, mentorship, and medical education.

Jordan’s favorite hobby is weightlifting, and he also enjoys watching classic and foreign films. He listens to various genres of music and was excited to move to Nashville to explore the local music scene and to see the Johnny Cash Museum.
