Named for Kathryn M. Edwards, MD, the renowned and respected researcher, clinician, and mentor in the field of pediatrics and infectious diseases, the Kathryn M. Edwards Society is dedicated to growing and supporting the Pediatric Research Community and to the scientific literacy of physicians who use this knowledge at the bedside.
Mission
The Edwards Society creates an inclusive research environment for mentorship, shared scholarship, and collaboration to improve child health through discovery.
The goals of the Edwards Society are to:
- Build connections that will strengthen and support pediatric researchers in our department, including early-career and established investigators.
- Foster the recruitment of research-oriented students and trainees and offer continued support throughout their careers.
- Support mentored research for students, residents, fellows, and early-career faculty.
- Support travel to conferences to present research and for networking.
- Support our members through research seminars and interactions with distinguished visiting professors.
- Support discovery grants for pilot studies and preliminary data.
