Blake was born and raised in Dallas, Texas. Most of his childhood consisted of playing many different sports from football to waterskiing. His love of waterskiing prompted him to become a counselor at a local watersports camp over the summers in high school, where he developed a passion for working with kids and helping them achieve their goals. Blake attended The University of Texas at Austin, where he obtained his Bachelor’s degree in Biochemistry and ensured perfect attendance at every football game as a diehard Texas Longhorns fan. While at UT (the real one), he cherished volunteering at Dell Children’s Medical Center and solidified that his true calling was to become a pediatrician. He found further interest in pediatric oncology through his time spent with patients and families in the Heme/Onc clinic. Blake then attended University of Texas Medical Branch School of Medicine in the beach town paradise of Galveston, where he continued his efforts to impact kids in his community through tutoring and mentoring local elementary school students, as well as retaking the stead of a counselor at a summer camp for patients with the metabolic disorder PKU.

In his free time, Blake enjoys playing or watching any sport, grilling for group hangouts, exploring local breweries and distilleries, and having the honor (and responsibility!) of officiating many of his friends’ weddings.
