PGY 2

Medical School: University of Texas-Houston
College: University of Texas at Austin
Hometown: Overland Park, Kansas

Alex spent most of her childhood in Overland Park, Kansas, a suburb of Kansas City. Go Chiefs! She grew up playing competitive soccer and ran cross country throughout high school. After high school, she made the move to Austin to pursue a degree in biomedical engineering from The University of Texas. Life in Austin introduced Alex to two very important things - Texas Longhorns football (Hook ‘Em) and Chuy’s, the best Tex-Mex restaurant! Medical school led Alex to Houston where she attended McGovern Medical School at UT Health Science Center. During the next four years, she developed a passion for mentoring, teaching, and patient advocacy, which cemented her interest in pediatrics.

In her free time, Alex enjoys exploring local restaurants with friends, attending hot yoga classes, and playing a pick-up game of soccer. She loves to be outside and will take any opportunity to visit a new park with her miniature dachshund, Millie.
