Nicole Parada Parra, MD

Chief Resident
Pediatric Residency Program

M.D.
Jacobs School of Medicine and Biomedical Sciences - University at Buffalo
Residency
Pediatrics - Vanderbilt University Medical Center

Nicole was born in Bogotá, Colombia before her family moved to Orlando, Florida, when she was nine. A dual US-Colombian citizen, she attended the University of Central Florida, where she earned her degree in Biomedical Sciences with a minor in Russian Studies. Afterward, she ventured farther north to study at the Jacobs School of Medicine at the University of Buffalo, where her passion for working with children began.

In continuing her trek throughout the U.S., she found herself at Vanderbilt for pediatric residency, a journey she was not ready to finish just yet. The unexpectedly diverse patient population, paired with the remarkable residents and support system at Monroe Carell Jr. Children’s Hospital at Vanderbilt, led to an undiscovered passion for resident and patient advocacy she will carry throughout her chief year.

When Nicole isn’t moving at Wonder Woman speed, she enjoys bullet journaling, practicing calligraphy, water coloring, and adventuring in the great outdoors. Above all, she cherishes her time with family and friends.
