Laura grew up in Louisville, KY where she enjoyed playing board games with her family, watching college hoops, running cross-country and track, and learning to make the perfect mint julep. After high school, she attended Brown University where she studied neuroscience. At Vanderbilt, she was introduced to the field of child neurology in the lab of Kevin Ess, where she studied the pathophysiology of Tuberous Sclerosis Complex. She enjoyed her time with the Vanderbilt MSTP and the VUMC community so much she decided to stick around for residency. She enjoys exploring the city and weekend festivals with her kids, Losson and Everett, and running the greenways with her terrier.
