DEI Advisory Committee March 2022 Update

Your DEI Advisory Committee has been hard at work!

This 17-member group represents more than eight divisions and includes both residents and fellows. We collected information across the Department to identify the multitude of DEI initiatives underway. This resulted in close to 40 programs, and we think there are more that might not have been captured. We have created an accessible tool that will be posted on the DEI webpage so that you can identify others in the department working in areas where you also have an interest.

These DEI initiatives reflect individual and population health, health care systems, patient experience, social determinants of health, recruitment and retention processes, education, and integration of race, ethnicity, and language (REAL) data. We want the department to learn more about these initiatives, so we will spotlight a department member and their work each month on the DEI webpage. This will include a brief description of their work, as well as a brief presentation. Our ultimate goal is to convene, connect, and catalyze DEI work across the department.

Please let Dr. Erin Boyd or Dr. Shari Barkin know if you have work underway so we can amplify our collective impact together as a Department of Pediatrics.
