Education & Training

Medical Students

Vanderbilt medical students work with our faculty in several clinical rotations. During the first year, these include Continuity Clinical Experience (CCX) and the Vanderbilt Program in lnterprofessional Learning (VPIL). Students also rotate in the Adolescent and Young Adult Health Clinic during the Core Clinical Clerkship phase either as part of the Pediatrics Rotation or as a two weeks elective (Adolescent Medicine Elective or Young Women's Health Elective).

Senior Medical students can rotate in the Adolescent and Young Adult Health clinic through several courses, including:

  • Adolescent Medicine Advanced Clinical elective
  • Primary Care elective
  • Integrated Science Course (Sexual Health and Medicine)

Residents

Vanderbilt Categorical Pediatric Residents work in the Adolescent Young Adult health clinic for two weeks during their 1st and 3rd years of residency.

Vanderbilt Internal Medicine/Pediatrics Residents work in the Adolescent Young Adult health clinic for two weeks during their 3rd and 4th years of residency.

Vanderbilt Pediatric Neurology Residents work in our clinic for two weeks during their 1st and 2nd years of residency.

Fellows

Sports Medicine Fellowship trainees can spend their first year in the program training in our clinic to fulfill the primary care requirement.

Social Work Students

One social work student rotates in our clinic as part of the VPIL course.

Nurse Practitioner Students

One NP student rotates in our clinic as part of the VPIL course.

Primary care NP students also spend 2-3 days in our clinic as part of their pediatric primary care rotation. Additional time can be arranged for students with a particular interest.

Pharmacy Students

One Pharm D student rotates with us as part of the VPIL course.
