Research Information
Dr. Sanson-Iglesias is a research scientist specializing in pathogenic streptococcal research (Group A and B streptococci). As part of the Flores Laboratory, Dr. Sanson-Iglesias’ research focuses on elucidating mechanisms of streptococcal pathogenicity, especially bacterial gene regulation and expression, by using state of the art techniques such as whole genome sequencing, RNA-Seq and in vivo model systems. Dr. Sanson is also interested in bacterial genomic epidemiology and clonal emergence of disease in streptococci.
