Travis was born and raised in Houston, Texas. He attended Vanderbilt University where he earned a Bachelor's degree in Economics with a minor in Corporate Strategy and played for the Vanderbilt Rugby team. After his time at Vanderbilt, he spent two years with Teach for America teaching high school math in Dallas. Travis eventually moved to Austin where he finally accepted his true calling to medicine, attending the University of Texas at Austin Dell Medical School. During his time in medical school, Travis helped lead a student-run, free clinic and earned his MBA from the University of Texas at Austin McCombs School of Business.

In his spare time, Travis enjoys spending time with his wife, Lily, and their baby boy, Wylie. His best friend is his border basset mutt, Otis, and their favorite activity together is long naps. Travis also enjoys pickleball with friends and appreciates a good food truck.

Layla was born and raised in Memphis, Tennessee. Every summer until college, she volunteered at her local library where she developed her love for reading and discovered her passion for working with children. She attended Rhodes College where she majored in Biology and minored in Religious Studies. While at Rhodes, she created a Wellness Curriculum for elementary students that focused on teaching students wellness techniques. Following college, she went to medical school at the University of Tennessee Health Science Center in Memphis which further confirmed her passion for pediatrics. While Layla loves Memphis, she is excited to venture outside of her hometown to Nashville.

In her free time, Layla enjoys spending time with her four sisters and her two cats. She loves reading, drinking coffee, and going for outdoor runs.

Rachel grew up in a Chicago suburb just north of the city. She made her way east to Philadelphia for undergrad where she studied Mechanical Engineering at the University of Pennsylvania. After college, she headed back to Chicago where she spent a year working in a medical simulation center before completing medical school at Northwestern University. Outside of medicine, Rachel can be found seeking out the best pasta spots in town, taking long walks with friends, listening to country music, avidly watching "Jeopardy!", and cheering on the Chicago Bears with her husband, Charlie.

Bemenet (“Bem”) was born in Toronto but has spent most of his life calling Nashville home. After going to Duke for undergrad where he studied Chinese, he took a couple of gap years to complete additional post baccalaureate courses, spent some time as a barista, and worked as a family support specialist at a community non-profit. Bem went to UVA for medical school where his loyalty to Duke basketball was tested, but never faltered. More importantly though, UVA is where he was able to explore the field of pediatrics and confirm that it was the best career choice for him.

In his free time, Bem enjoys game nights, watching movies, Duke basketball, amusement parks, hiking, running, and playing tennis with friends.

Born in India, Pallavi moved to the United States at age two. She grew up in Plano, Texas and attended the University of Texas at Dallas for both her bachelor's degree in neuroscience and her master's degree in healthcare leadership and management. She then moved to Houston for medical school at McGovern Medical School (UTHealth Houston).

During medical school, Pallavi was involved in mentorship, advocacy with the American Medical Association, and medical education. She also completed a scholarly concentration in the medical humanities with a focus on mental health disparities in immigrant communities. Pallavi has always loved working with children, and she plans to work in a pediatric subspecialty in the future. As a pediatrician, her mission is to create safe, inclusive, and accessible spaces for all children.

In her spare time, Pallavi likes to read, write, try different workouts, and pretend she is on the Great British Bake Off. She also enjoys spending time with her partner and loved ones, especially at local parks, restaurants, and coffee shops.

While in North Dakota, she worked as a hospital phlebotomist and CNA as well as an EMT on an ambulance service. She attended medical school at the University of Washington where she developed a passion for rural and underserved medicine.

In her free time, Jess can be found hanging out with her husband, Jack, and their adorable baby, Maverick. She enjoys hiking, backpacking, camping, attempting to run, drinking coffee, and playing new board games.

She attended the University of Wisconsin – Madison for her undergraduate degree where she majored in genetics and genomics and neurobiology with a certificate in leadership. At that time, she also developed a passion for addressing social determinants of health. She found she could combine these passions through a career in medicine and attended the University of Wisconsin School of Medicine and Public Health in Madison where she solidified her interests in pediatric medicine and legislative advocacy.

Outside of medicine, Alyssa loves to spend time outdoors hiking, running, and playing tennis. She also enjoys spending time with her friends and family, reading, doing hot yoga, and trying new restaurants.

During college, she explored different cultures by studying abroad in Italy and Morocco, and she played on the club softball team throughout her time at UF. She then came back home to Orlando to attend medical school at the University of Central Florida where Kristen quickly developed a passion for pediatric medicine and medical education.

Outside of medicine, Kristen enjoys spending time outdoors. She loves hiking, camping, and scuba diving. When it's time to head inside, you will probably find her curled up on the couch with her beagle-mix, Archie, and a good book.

Dorianna was born and raised in northern Georgia in her hometown of Rome. She attended Georgia College & State University (still undefeated in football…) and earned a Bachelor’s degree in Biology. She then spent a year working as a clinical research coordinator in the NICU and Pediatric Pulmonary clinic at Vanderbilt. This experience crystallized her sense of purpose and motivated her to further challenge herself in her quest to become a pediatric physician. Some of her research interests include exploring questions about the genetic, social, and environmental risk factors for complications after preterm birth.

After her gap year, she attended Mercer University School of Medicine where she met her partner, Juan Carlos (JC), who is an Internal Medicine resident at Vanderbilt. During medical school, Dorianna continued to expand her love of clinical research while developing specific interests in health disparities/advocacy, teaching, and clinical skills tutoring.

In her free time, Dorianna enjoys working out, kayaking, hosting friends for dinner and games, and exploring new restaurants, breweries, and coffee shops with friends and family. She also cannot spend enough time with her partner JC and their golden retriever, Draper, and cat, Lara.

While in Houston, she earned her Master of Public Health at UTHealth School of Public Health with a concentration in pediatric nutrition and obesity research.
