Sam is from the suburbs of Chicago. She received a BS in Chemistry and a BA in Mathematical Statistics from Wake Forest University. She attended medical school at Rush Medical College followed by a pediatric residency at the University of Chicago. During residency, she also completed the McLean Center for Clinical Medical Ethics Fellowship.

She is interested in research involving bioethics, extremely premature infants, and neonatal palliative care. In her free time, she enjoys spending time with family and friends, exploring Nashville, and traveling.

Misun moved around quite a bit as a child, but mostly grew up in Orlando, FL and Seoul, Korea. She obtained her B.S. in biology at Yale University. She then moved to Dallas for medical school at UT Southwestern. She completed her pediatrics residency and a chief residency at Comer Children’s Hospital at the University of Chicago. She then spent two years as a NICU hospitalist at Northwestern prior to starting fellowship at Vanderbilt.

Misun’s interests include medical education and clinical ethics. She is a fan of jam sessions, chamber music, biking, game nights, and reclining after eating.
