Nathan was born in Pennsylvania but grew up in Nebraska. Upon graduating from Nebraska City High School, he attended Grinnell College in Iowa for his undergraduate studies. There he majored in biochemistry, minored in neuroscience, and played baseball. He then returned home for medical school at the University of Nebraska College of Medicine.

Nathan knew he would become a neurologist upon entering medical school. However, it wasn't until the clinical training years that he discovered his love of pediatric medicine. Wanting the best of both fields, he decided to train in pediatric neurology and found his way to Vanderbilt! After completion of residency, he intends to pursue fellowship training in pediatric neurological oncology.

Nathan moved to Nashville with his wife, Madison, daughter, Sedona, and dog, Zara. He enjoys baseball, golf, video games, hiking, traveling, and taking full advantage of the world class music scene in Nashville.

Kristen is an Arizona native but left the desert to attend Baylor University in Waco, Texas. While studying in the Baylor Interdisciplinary Core within the Honors College, she majored in Neuroscience with a minor in Biology. She also worked as a personal trainer and campus tour guide during her time in Waco! Although she had wanted to be a pediatrician her entire life, her undergraduate studies segued her professional interests towards pediatric neurology.

Upon graduating college, she did public health work with a local non-profit organization in Trujillo, Peru before eventually returning home to Phoenix for medical school. In her free time, she loves hiking, traveling, gardening, baking, interior design, and oenology. Since coming to Nashville, she and her husband, Ryan, have loved exploring the state parks, trying the many local breweries, and going to concerts in their free time.

Tim was born and raised in Ann Arbor, Michigan before heading out near Grand Rapids, Michigan for his undergraduate studies in Biomedical Science at Grand Valley State University. His interest in medicine developed in college during his time as a Health Coach and in his biomedical courses. Tim’s interest in Child Neurology grew while working on research projects on brain mapping methods for epilepsy surgery at Cincinnati Children’s. He is open to exploring a variety of other subspecialties within Neurology and has found interest in Neuroimmunology, Concussion/TBI, and General Neurology.

Since moving to Nashville, Tim has found a variety of things to do. His hobbies include playing guitar (acoustic, electric, classical, and ukulele), going to concerts, and going on hiking trips. He and his fiancée like taking walks, discovering live music spots, going to hockey games, or working on finding the best margarita spot in Nashville.
