Djamila was born in Afghanistan and lived in Pakistan for a couple of years before moving to the Netherlands with her family at the age of 10 as refugees. During this time, she discovered her passion for child neurology.

Djamila is married to Matin who she met in Nashville, and they have a 3-year-old son together (Noah). They are also proud cat and dog parents of Keanu and Harley. In her free time, she enjoys spending time with her family and friends, cooking, eating, hiking, and traveling.

Alexandra "Allie" Williams, MD

PGY 3

Allie grew up in both the Southwest and on the East Coast, before splitting the difference and heading out to the Midwest for college. She worked as a research assistant and an organ transplant preservationist here at Vanderbilt after college, met her husband, and loved Nashville so much she just couldn’t leave. She stayed for medical school, a research year-out, and is now thrilled to be staying here for residency. She feels that Nashville really is home, and the Vanderbilt community is unparalleled. Allie has had a decade-long interest in the heart and hopes to pursue fellowship in peds cardiology after residency. Outside of medicine, Allie and her husband became parents during the pandemic and have loved getting to be home so much with their son. They spend lots of time outdoors as a family with their energetic and often too smart Golden Retriever/Collie mix, Cade. Allie also loves to make new recipes to cook and bake, watch movies, and drink any and every kind of tea in existence. She is ecstatic to continue her journey at Vanderbilt as part of such a supportive, genuine, and fun pediatrics family.

Chandler grew up in Sugar Land, Texas before moving to College Station to attend Texas A&M University (WHOOP)! There, she earned her Bachelors and Masters degrees in Biomedical Sciences and spent many weekends in the fall standing with the 12th man at Kyle Field. She attended medical school at the Long School of Medicine at the University of Texas at San Antonio, where she determined her love for Pediatrics. She enjoys exercise (CrossFit, yoga, and walking or jogging outside), true crime podcasts, visiting her grandparents in Bermuda, and spending as much time as possible with family (particularly her niece and nephews). Chandler is thrilled to be part of the Vanderbilt Pediatrics family, and she, her husband Charlie, and their cat Fuego are excited to be in Nashville and dive into the local sports and music scenes.

Kristina Stang, MD

Kristina
Stang
MD
PGY 3

Kristina was born and raised in the suburbs of Chicago. She attended the University of Notre Dame for college and majored in Science Preprofessional Studies and Psychology. Shockingly, she attended every football game (Go Irish!) and will probably never have such enthusiasm for sports again. After college, she worked for Cerner Corporation in Kansas City, Missouri as a Perioperative Services consultant. For a year, she enjoyed traveling the country and working with different healthcare systems. For medical school, she attended Tulane University in New Orleans. She was happy to trade Midwest winters for warmer temperatures, but the hurricanes and cockroaches led her to migrate further North for residency. Outside of medicine, Kristina loves to exercise, explore local restaurants and businesses as a Yelp Elite member, cook, bake, and play with her quarantine cat, Lily. She is so excited and grateful to live in Nashville, join the Vanderbilt Pediatrics family, and reunite with her fiancé, an Internal Medicine resident.

Eric was born and raised in Edgewood, Kentucky with his younger brother and sister. Much of his childhood consisted of time spent at baseball fields and frequent trips across the river with his Dad to watch the Cincinnati Reds. He owes a great deal of his interest in healthcare to his Mom, a lifelong nurse who specializes in empathizing with her patients. Eric ventured to the University of Dayton to study pre-medicine and ultimately made his way back to Kentucky to study at the University of Louisville School of Medicine, where he found his passion for pediatrics. Outside of medicine, Eric enjoys being outdoors hiking, biking and camping, discovering music and curating Spotify playlists, reading historical fiction novels, and exploring local breweries and coffeehouses. Eric is honored to serve the children of Nashville as a member of the Vanderbilt Pediatrics community and is very excited to discover what the city has to offer.
