Calvin grew up in Minnesota, Louisiana, and Illinois, though his parents and brother now call UP Michigan home. He majored in Biology and Economics at Northwestern University before attending Vanderbilt University School of Medicine. At both levels, he was a part of incredibly supportive research families, studying topics in cell signaling and proteomics as well as community health and nutrition. He cannot wait to continue his time in Nashville serving this incredible community, where he loves trying new restaurants, listening to great music, supporting the Preds and Dores, and visiting museums. His biggest hobby outside of medicine is passionate support of many sports teams, with favorites being the Yankees in MLB, Vikings in NFL, and many teams in NHL. He loves to travel, and enjoys exploring the food, culture, and history wherever he visits. He also enjoys reading, with favorite genres ranging from medicine to sports history to science-fiction and fantasy.
