Dorianna Dobson, MD
Medical School: Mercer University School of Medicine
College: Georgia College & State University
Hometown: Rome, Georgia
Dorianna was born and raised in northern Georgia in her hometown of Rome. She attended Georgia College & State University (still undefeated in football…) and earned a Bachelor’s degree in Biology. She then spent a year working as a clinical research coordinator in the NICU and Pediatric Pulmonary clinic at Vanderbilt. This experience crystallized her sense of purpose and motivated her to further challenge herself in her quest to become a pediatric physician. Some of her research interests include exploring questions about the genetic, social, and environmental risk factors for complications after preterm birth.
After her gap year, she attended Mercer University School of Medicine where she met her partner, Juan Carlos (JC), who is an Internal Medicine resident at Vanderbilt. During medical school, Dorianna continued to expand her love of clinical research while developing specific interests in health disparities/advocacy, teaching, and clinical skills tutoring.
In her free time, Dorianna enjoys working out, kayaking, hosting friends for dinner and games, and exploring new restaurants, breweries, and coffee shops with friends and family. She also cannot spend enough time with her partner JC and their golden retriever, Draper, and cat, Lara.
