Daniel J. Moore, MD, PhD
Dr. Moore's research program focuses on the pathogenesis of Type 1 diabetes and identifying new approaches to prevent and cure disease. His research progress is primarily focused on the immunology of diabetes including identifying novel mechanisms by which the immune-mediated destruction of islet beta cells can be prevented. Additional research focuses on the potential of islet transplantation as a permanent treatment for T1D. In addition to his basic science work, he is also leading translational and clinical research in T1D including using MRI to study the pancreas in T1D and trials to study immune therapies for T1D.
