Our Better Outcomes in Lysosomal Diseases (BOLD) Fellowship in the Division of Medical Genetics and Genomic Medicine at Vanderbilt trains nurse practitioners to achieve excellent clinical outcomes in the diagnosis and treatment of lysosomal disorders for which effective enzyme replacement therapy (ERT) has been developed. ERT is the keystone component of comprehensive, multi-disciplinary treatment of patients with LSDs, including Gaucher disease, Fabry disease, Pompe disease, and other inborn errors of metabolism.

The BOLD fellowship at Vanderbilt is a two-year training program for Advanced Practice Nurse Practitioners that encompasses education, research, and educational outreach activities. Fellows in this program emerge with a focused, specialized skill set that promises to serve their career trajectories well while broadly serving patients with LSDs.

In addition, our BOLD fellows can enroll in and obtain a DNP (PhD of Nurse Practitioner in Genetics) in a parallel Vanderbilt University School of Nursing program.
