Brooke grew up in Augusta, Georgia, home of the Masters golf tournament. She moved to Tennessee to attend college at Freed-Hardeman University where she received degrees in Biochemistry and Spanish, and then returned home to Augusta to attend medical school at the Medical College of Georgia. While in medical school, Brooke was very involved in advocacy work centered around equitable access to nutritious foods for underserved populations and healthcare for Spanish-speaking children. She also has a passion for clinical research and has published several projects in the field of cystic fibrosis.

In her free time, Brooke enjoys spending time with her husband and their beloved cats, Mila and Pete. Her hobbies include making pottery, painting with watercolor, reading novels, visiting national parks, and group exercise.
