Lori Jordan, MD, PhD
For Sleep Coach, we will be working with Lori Jordan, MD, PhD and her team. Dr. Jordan is a pediatric neurologist whose clinical interests include pediatric stroke prevention and sickle cell disease. Dr. Jordan and her team also examine cognitive function and brain injury in children with heart disease and type 1 diabetes. Dr. Jordan will serve as Co-Principal Investigator for this study and will be examining brain fluid motion and brain health through the optional MRI scans.

Children's National Hospital
For Thrive!, we worked in collaboration with Randi Streisand, PhD and her lab at Children’s National Hospital. Dr. Streisand is the Division Chief of Psychology and Behavioral Health at CNH, and works with children and adolescents and their families to help them adjust to living with illnesses. Her research primarily focusses on childhood diabetes and has numerous publications on the subject. While VUMC was the primary site for Thrive!, Dr. Streisand and her team enrolled half of the study’s participants from their clinics at CNH.
UConn Center for mHealth and Social Media
In our Communication & Coping study, we worked alongside Sherry Pagoto, PhD and her team at the University of Connecticut Center for mHealth and Social Media. Sherry and her lab research the use of technology and social media in the delivery of behavioral health interventions. As part of our intervention utilized Facebook as a tool to bring our interventions to our participants, Sherry and her team helped us to moderate and adjust our Facebook content to make it as effective and engaging as possible.
