Children's National Hospital

For Thrive!, we work in collaboration with Randi Streisand, PhD and her lab at Children’s National Hospital. Dr. Streisand is the Division Chief of Psychology and Behavioral Health at CNH, and works with children and adolescents and their families to help them adjust to living with illnesses. Her research primarily focusses on childhood diabetes and has numerous publications on the subject. While VUMC is the primary site for Thrive!, Dr. Streisand and her team will enroll half of the study’s participants from their clinics at CNH.

UConn Center for mHealth and Social Media

In our Communication & Coping study we work alongside Sherry Pagoto, PhD and her team at the University of Connecticut Center for mHealth and Social media. Sherry and her lab research the use of technology and social media in the delivery of behavioral health interventions. As part of our intervention utilizes Facebook as a tool to bring our interventions to our participants, Sherry and her team help us to moderate and adjust our Facebook content to make it as effective and engaging as possible.
