Dr. Ruchee Patel is a pediatric neuromuscular and gene therapy specialist at Vanderbilt Health. She is a native of the Chicago suburbs. Dr. Patel completed her undergraduate education at the University of Chicago and medical school at Chicago Medical School before venturing to the mid-Atlantic for Pediatric Neurology residency and Neuromuscular Fellowship at Johns Hopkins School of Medicine. Her clinical and research passions led Dr. Patel to pursue further clinical research fellowship at the National Institutes of Health under the mentorship of Dr. Carsten G. Bönnemann, where she has fostered further skills in neuromuscular genetics, deep phenotyping of rare and undiagnosed neuromuscular disorders, clinical trial design and implementation. Other special interests include clinical neuromuscular pathology and muscle ultrasound. She is looking forward to advancing the remarkable multidisciplinary care team mission in neuromuscular and gene therapy at Vanderbilt University.
