Research Information
Dr. Datye studies adherence to therapy in adolescents with type 1 diabetes and is interested in understanding the barriers to care that adolescents face. Current and emerging technologies and therapies allow for improved outcomes in pediatric patients with diabetes, however, poor adherence to these therapies poses a significant challenge in effectively treating disease. Dr. Datye is interested in developing interventions to improve adherence to therapy and ultimately glycemic control in this population. Dr. Datye is also actively involved in quality improvement programs within the clinic aimed at improving patient care. She is trained in quality improvement and believes a combination of patient care, research in adherence to therapy, and quality improvement within the diabetes clinic will together improve patient outcomes in pediatric type 1 diabetes.
