Dr. Turnbull’s clinical and scholarly interests center on the care of chronically critically ill children during periods of acute illness. She is particularly focused on communication with patients and families, interdisciplinary teamwork, clinical ethics, and the incorporation of palliative care in critical care contexts. Additionally, her work explores the intersection of clinical ethics and clinician wellness, examining how strengthening an institution’s ethical climate may play a role in preventing and alleviating burnout.
