Jennifer Laws, MD
St. Louis University School of Medicine
Pediatrics - Vanderbilt University Medical Center
Jenn grew up in Dayton, Ohio where she spent much of her childhood as a ballet dancer. She attended THE Ohio State University for her undergraduate degrees in Nutrition and Dance. While at Ohio State, she attended every single home Buckeye game and met her husband, Luke, in the laundry room of their freshman dorm. After graduation, Jenn traveled west to St. Louis for her medical degree at Saint Louis University School of Medicine. She then matched at Vanderbilt with her husband (Internal Medicine) for residency. During her three years of residency, she has cultivated an interest in medical education. She was a member of the Education Academic Community and focused primarily on curriculum development. She was also a Co-Chair of the Resident Wellness Committee. Following chief year, Jenn plans to pursue a fellowship in Pediatric Critical Care where she hopes to continue with her interest in curriculum development.
When she’s not in the chief’s office, Jenn enjoys spending time with her husband and rescue dog, Calvin. She enjoys running, Orange Theory, hiking, and rock climbing. Jenn loves baking for her friends, especially sourdough bread (which she did start baking before the pandemic). She also enjoys board games, exploring local food and bars with friends, and of course, cheering for The Ohio State Buckeyes football team. Jenn is honored and excited to be staying at Vanderbilt for her chief year and can’t wait for another year with her Vandy Peds Family.
