Dr. Nicholson's research has focused on assessing both the short-term and long-term outcomes in children with complex congenital heart disease. He has particular interest in the following primary areas: (1) The functional outcome and sequelae of interventional pediatric cardiology, (2) catheter and device development for use within interventional pediatric and adult congenital cardiology, and (3) assessing factors associated with improved survival in those patients with single ventricle physiology.
