Hazinski Society for Faculty Development

Our mission is to enhance career development skills for members of the Department of Pediatrics. Participants learn skills and receive guidance in accessing resources for successful careers in academic medicine. The society is named in honor of Dr. Tom Hazinski and continues his legacy of encouraging faculty development.

The society is a small-group mentorship program open to all faculty in the department, regardless of academic track.

Meeting Information

The monthly meetings provide a framework for peer-mentorship and networking within the department through group discussions. Participants learn career development through discussions and reading materials about creating and maintaining a CV, mentorship, preparing for your career planning conference, and leadership.

Each group consists of 10-12 pediatric faculty members with 2-3 senior faculty who serve as facilitators. Meetings are offered each month at a variety of times and locations to accommodate faculty schedules. The program has been active since 2011 with more than 85 faculty members and 15 senior faculty facilitators participating in the society each year.
