Mary Mayeaux, MD
Medical School: Louisiana State University School of Medicine - New Orleans
College: Nicholls State University
Mary was born and raised in Thibodaux, Louisiana with her parents and five siblings. In high school, she spent most of her time in the pool as a competitive swimmer and then as a lifeguard, swim instructor, and coach during the summers. There, she realized her love of working with children. Mary decided to stay close to home for college and attended Nicholls State University where she earned her Bachelor of Science degree in Biological Sciences and a minor in Chemistry. In 2016, she moved to New Orleans to pursue her medical degree at Louisiana State University (GEAUX TIGERS!!) where she has become an avid foodie with her husband and high school sweetheart, Jonathan, a civil engineer. Outside of medicine, Mary loves to cook — especially with fresh herbs from her garden — and host crawfish boils with her husband. She also loves to travel, spend time outdoors, dance, shop, take spin and barre classes, binge mystery books on Audible, and of course, watch Netflix. Lattes are her guilty pleasure, and she never turns down the opportunity to try a new one! This is her first time living outside of south Louisiana, and she is both thrilled about this new adventure and honored to be training at Monroe Carell Jr. Children's Hospital at Vanderbilt.
