Katherine is originally from Oconomowoc, Wisconsin, a small town near Milwaukee. She is a true Wisconsinite and loves everything cheese, bratwurst, the Wisconsin Badgers and the Green Bay Packers. She completed her undergraduate education at The University of Wisconsin, where she received a Bachelor of Science degree in Kinesiology. Katherine stayed in Wisconsin to complete medical school at The Medical College of Wisconsin. She next migrated south to Vanderbilt University Medical Center to complete her Pediatrics residency and is excited to be staying in Nashville as a pulmonary fellow.

Katherine has clinical and research interests in cystic fibrosis and non-cystic fibrosis bronchiectasis. She was awarded a NIH T32 training grant to study diagnostic challenges and the unique phenotype of neonatal respiratory distress in primary ciliary dyskinesia. Outside of the hospital, she enjoys listening to live country music, golfing, cooking, cheering on her favorite sports teams and spending time outdoors with her husband and sweet Sheepadoodle named MacInnis.
