Claudia was born in Cienfuegos, Cuba and moved to the US in 2006. She obtained her bachelor's degree at Johns Hopkins University and went to Florida International University (FIU) in Miami, Florida for Medical School. She then moved to Atlanta, Georgia to complete her residency at Emory University in Pediatrics and is very excited to start her journey at Vanderbilt University as a future Neonatologist. Claudia's main research interest is in nutrition and the gut microbiome and its effect on necrotizing enterocolitis. She is a wellness enthusiast and enjoys all sorts of exercise and nature. In her free time, she also enjoys traveling, exploring different cuisines and cooking.
