Brittany was born and raised in Hortonville, WI. She grew up thinking she wanted to be a teacher or actuary, but quickly realized she was not as enthused about statistics as she was biology and sports. As such, she spent much of her undergraduate career researching the clotting cascade of squirrels and helping to coach the Special Olympics swim team. In medical school, she expanded on her love of travel and ultimately visited Rwanda, Africa for 7 weeks. She moved back to Wisconsin for residency, and it was here where she realized her zeal for infectious diseases, and more specifically, vaccines. Outside of work, she enjoys playing competitive volleyball, camping, traveling, and biking.
